The Worm - another one of Electro Harmonix's fantastic pedals - offers four modulation effects in a single pedal.
How does The Worm work?
The Worm offers four different modulation effects, topping The Wiggler, which features two. The pedal houses a modulated wah, a phaser, a tremolo and a vibrato effect, enabling you to add even more modulation effects to your sound. Choose the effect you'd like to use with the mode knob. A rate knob determines the modulation speed for each effect, and a range knob controls the effect level. After all, sometimes less is more.
The effect, the sound
The Worm allows you to go crazy with spacey, vibrating sounds. The EHX pedal delivers an unlimited range of spacious, creatively repetitive results. Just use your imagination! Do away with tradition and enter the realm of infinite space. The Worm is far out!

Bijzonder fijn, dat EHX tegenwoordig zoveel compactere pedalen bouwt. Ik heb een aantal oudere, en nu deze Worm, en in vergelijking met de oude pedalen is dit echt een verademing, klein, compact en dus erg handig draagbaar.
Ook elektronisch is de vergelijking erg positief voor de nieuwe versie. Geen ruis, geen klik, een snelle omschakeling en geen volume-dip, sterker nog, er komt eerder een 'boost' uit dit pedaal. Waar de Small Stone vroeger een extra booster/voorversterking vereiste, is dit bij de Worm absoluut niet meer nodig.
Ik kocht 'm vooral voor de 'tremolo' en 'vibrato'-functies, maar de auto-wah en de phaser zijn ook prima! Al met al, niet alleen voor het geld, maar in het algemeen gewoon een prima pedaal!
Erg bruikbaar voor funk, grunge, electro, metal, bluesrock, progrock, 'you name it', het kan ermee!
Er zit een eigen voeding bij, maar je kunt 'm natuurlijk ook aan een groepsvoeding voor een pedalboard hangen. Aanrader!
