It might look like it was unearthed at an archaeological dig, but it really is a 16-inch Sabian AA Apollo hi-hat. While it is larger-than-average, none of the definition is compromised. The tip response is superbly dry and is sure to bring a fat grin to the faces of any hip-hop or funk drummers. Open it up and you immediately hear the size of the hats - low, wide and brilliantly dark - perfect for straight-up rock, and played with the foot, the sound is deep but defined. While this maybe doesn't describe the most flexible cymbal around, it does describe a set of hats that are undeniably good at exactly what they were made for.
