Like all of Sabian's AAX Series cymbals, the 21809XC has undergone the Autofocus Response treatment to tighten up and focus the wide-ranging frequencies it shapes and make sure the crash doesn't produce any unwanted overtones. See it as a kind of built-in equaliser that constantly balances out the sound, no matter how loud or what style you play. Basically, you could play it softly in front of a bar crowd or with full force on the main stage at a big festival and get the same sound. Admit it, though - you'd much rather use it for the latter!
