In one complete shot, the Samson Expedition XP208w sets you up with a 200 Watt ground-shaker complete with integrated 4-channel mixer and a wireless handheld microphone. Fitted with a smooth-gliding set of wheels and a trolley-style pull-out handle, this solid, lightweight system is easily carted between A and B, and a standard 3/8-inch mounting point has been fitted to the base so that the speaker can be placed on a stand for optimum audio spread. The comprehensive Samson Expedition XP208w even provides Bluetooth connectivity, so you can couple up your Bluetooth capable device of choice for wireless streaming.

Deze speaker heb ik gekocht als vervanging van mij Samson Expedition Express+. Daar was ik al heel tevreden over maar ik merkte dat die wel erg op zijn tenen moest lopen voor mijn toepassingen. Ik heb ook een ‘klassieke’ PA set maar dat is dan vaak weer een beetje overdreven. Daarom op zoek gegaan naar de gulden middenweg en die heb ik denk ik gevonden. Deze speaker is een stuk krachtiger (grotere en betere speaker drivers, meer vermogen 200 vs 75 watt en gewoon wat groter). Hij kan makkelijker een groep mensen van muziek of ander geluid voorzien. Ook een leuke feature is de reverb. Een simpelen echo die toch net even wat toevoegt als er gezongen wordt. De bijgeleverde draadloze microfoon werkt ook prima. Ook fijn dat deze speaker klankregeling heeft (master bass en treble) want kleine aanpassingen als gevolg van ruimte akoestiek en dergelijke zijn toch regelmatig wel gewenst. Batterijduur kan ik nog niet zoveel over zeggen maar bij achtergrondmuziek volume gebruik moet een uur of 10 zeker mogelijk zijn. Bluetooth werkt ook prima.
Enige puntje van aandacht is wel dat het zeker mogelijk is de speaker te oversturen als je een hoog ingangssignaal hebt en de bass/treble te ver opschroeft. Maar als je daar een beetje op let is het geen probleem.
Voor groepen tot 100 personen is het een goede keuze! Er zijn betere accu-speakers maar dit is zeker ook een topper als het gaat om de verhouding tussen kwaliteit, prijs en functies!
