This truly spectacular Charvel Pro Mod Dinky Snake has a look you won't easily shed from your mind's eye. Its finish is made to look like snake's skin! Like most Charvel guitars, this serpentine instrument is right at home as it slithers its way through the music in between some large amplifier stacks. It is a Warren DeMartini signature guitar and it features two different types of pickups: a humbucker and a single-coil. This means you have plenty of sounds to choose from. Whether you want a medium rock sound or a rugged high-gain metal distortion, you can have it all with the Charvel PM DK Snake.
Charvel PM DK Warren DeMartini Signature Snake: a gripping sound
The proper tone of this amazing guitar is wrought by a clever combination of body and pickups. The body is made of alder and thus provides a neutral tone with a small mid-frequency dip - allowing for razor-sharp distortions! Additionally, two Seymour Duncan pickups each add their very own tonal character - the humbucker produces an extra high output for even better amplifier distortion!
Electronics and hardware
Thanks to the Floyd Rose tremolo on this electric guitar, you can go for insane dive bombs and crazy tone bends. Contrary to a vintage tremolo, the Floyd Rose allows you to make the strings completely slack. However, to retain tuning, this Charvel features a locking nut that holds the strings perfectly. You can fine-tune the strings via the fine tuners on the bridge. Furthermore, there are as few electronics on this guitar as possible, only a volume control and a three-way pickup switch.

The first one I received was sent back as there was a fault with the truss rod route in the back of the neck, high frets and generally poor build quality.
The second turned up surprisingly quickly. As with the first the set up was very poor. adjusting the bridge height and relief resolved this and the guitar plays great. The neck feels slick and fast. The tone from the pickups is spot on and really recreates the RATT sound.
The main reason to buy the guitar is the finish. Which is almost dull and waxy. It looks great but is oddly delicate to touch and goes very shiny if you dust the guitar. It’s almost a concern and I wonder how long it’ll fair.
Overall a great guitar. Wish the finish was more robust.
