The Roland TD-25 series offers many possibilities at an affordable price compared to its predecessor, the TD-30. The module has SuperNATURAL technology that reacts to the details in your playing so that your rim shots, rolls and ghost notes on the drums and crashes, and complex rhythms on the cymbals is simulated accurately. The TD-25KVX comes with an 18-inch acoustic bass drum with a built-in trigger pad system that ensures a natural feel and sound as well as an authentic look! The kit also includes a snare, three toms, a hi-hat, two crashes and a ride.
TD-25 module
There are 36 pre-programmed kits in the TD-25 and all the virtual instruments available can be adjusted as desired using the on-board effects. Change the pitch, mute a tom or add sustain - anything is possible and easy to alter using the clear user interface. The large button in the middle is used to switch quickly between the various kits. Play along with your favourite music by using the aux input to plug in a media player, or load in WAV or MP3 files from a USB stick. Record your sessions on a USB stick or via a DAW on your computer.
Set-up
In the TD-25 series, there are three kits, each with its own unique configuration. The module is the same for all three kits, but the pads are different. The KVX has an 18-inch acoustic bass drum and a 12-inch snare drum pad that can produce dynamic rim shots with great precision. The three toms are equipped with 10-inch pads and mesh heads. The VH-11 hi-hat (stand sold separately) offers a realistic response and movement, just like the two 12-inch dual-zone crash cymbals and triple-zone 13-inch crash.
Consigli e osservazioni
- Please note: this kit does not include a bass drum pedal, a snare drum stand, a hi-hat stand or a drum throne.
- With mesh heads, we recommend using nylon-tip drum sticks only. A (slightly) splintered wooden tip can damage the head.
- The supplied rack is an improved version and differs slightly from the one in the picture.

Ik heb gedurende zes jaar diverse Roland sets gehad en bespeeld in bands, inclusief het live on stage werk. (Indie-rock)
Roland is de top; ik heb nog niets beters gevonden.
Inmiddels echter ben ik weer terug bij een serieuze akoestische set want electrisch drummen lijkt best op drummen maar haalt het niet qua dynamiek, feel en stage presence bij de trommels. (Aan dat laatste werkt Roland nu dus ook.) Mijn techniek bleek trouwens achteruit te zijn gegaan door die makkelijke meshheadjes.
Daarnaast liggen de prijzen niet in verhouding met het gebodene. (Alsof bv een electrische viool vanaf 3.000 moet kosten.)
Daarom staat nu thuis, in de drumkamer, een dure uitgebreide TD30 als oefenkitje te staan zodat ik wanneer ik wil kan spelen, oefenen en opnemen. Dat gaat perfect tenminste.
Deze TD-25KVX is weer prima; goede klanken (die merendeels niet bruikbaar zijn voor de meeste drummers) en een uitstekende bouwkwaliteit. Nog nooit een probleempje gehad met Roland drums! De module biedt ruim voldoende instelmogelijkheden voor gevoeligheid, klanken, toewijzen, mix en noem maar op. Padgevoeligheid is steeds beter maar blijft achterlopen bij akoestisch.
De prijs zou ongeveer de helft moeten zijn in verhouding met de bruikbaarheid, en Roland zou zeker nou eens goede transportcases voor z'n spullen moeten gaan aanbieden. (Of ze verwachten zelf ook dat dit alleen op slaapkamers terecht komt.)
Dus, erg goed oefenspul maar veel te duur daarvoor. Wil je echt drummen, koop dan een akoestische set en gebruik demping voor thuis ......
